Montval is a paper designed by the painter Gaspard Maillol, nephew of the statuary sculptor Aristide Maillol, and manufactured at Canson at his request at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, this paper has acquired new qualities.

One of them is its ability to be corrected: retouching is easy, by cleaning the paper with water, using a sponge or a brush. There are no traces of watercolor left and the paper can be worked on again.
